Wrapping up the 2025–2026 MNLEND cohort has been b Wrapping up the 2025–2026 MNLEND cohort has been both rewarding and inspiring.

The last two weeks of April marked a meaningful close to this year’s journey. On April 30th, our fellows shared reflections on their experiences throughout the program, highlighting their growth, challenges, and the goals they are carrying forward into their careers. It was powerful to hear how each fellow plans to apply what they’ve learned to create impact in their communities and fields.

In addition, on April 23rd, fellows presented posters showcasing the projects they developed over the course of the program. These presentations reflected not only their hard work but also their commitment to advancing equity, improving systems of care, and supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)/Developmental Disabilities (DD) and their families.

We had the opportunity to reconnect three weeks later to celebrate their accomplishments and present their certificates, an important moment to recognize their dedication and officially welcome them into the MNLEND alumni network.

Each year, it is truly a privilege to get to know our fellows, their passions, their career paths, and their vision for the future. Watching them grow professionally and seeing how they plan to carry this work forward is incredibly meaningful.
I also find myself learning so much from them and from our speakers each year. This experience has even inspired me to return to school to pursue another master’s in Social Work, so I can continue growing and contributing more deeply to the community.

As we say goodbye to this cohort, we are already preparing to welcome a new group of fellows in the coming months. The work continues, and so does the impact.

As our director, Amy Hewitt, always says: “Once an MNLEND fellow, always an MNLEND fellow.”

A parent’s deportation or detention is an incredib A parent’s deportation or detention is an incredibly stressful and frightening experience for a child at any age.
Children may struggle to understand what is happening, and as they process the separation and sudden changes in their lives, they may show emotional distress, behavioral changes, anxiety, or withdrawal.

This document highlights practical ways to support children during this difficult time, offering guidance for caregivers, educators, and community members.

It was developed by child mental health professionals to ensure the information is thoughtful, trauma-informed, and grounded in best practices.

Please share this resource with anyone who may need it or who supports children in caregiving, educational, or community roles.
Support and understanding can make a meaningful difference during moments of uncertainty and loss.

Happy New Year, my beautiful people . As we step i Happy New Year, my beautiful people .
As we step into a new year, I’m wishing each of you peace, clarity, growth, and joy. May this year be gentle with your heart and kind to your spirit. Remember to take care of your mental health, check in on one another, and choose a healthy lifestyle that supports your mind, body, and soul.

Despite everything happening around us and the heaviness that can sometimes fill the air, let’s be intentional about creating space for ourselves and our mental well-being. It’s okay to step back, set boundaries, and protect your peace when needed. Your mental health matters now more than ever.

In all the busyness, don’t forget to pause—stop, rest, and refresh when you need to. You deserve it. Here’s to a year of wellness, balance, and becoming the best version of ourselves.

Happy 17th birthday, OluwaToyosi my sweet Wéwé As Happy 17th birthday, OluwaToyosi my sweet Wéwé
As much as I wish you could stay little forever, I can’t help but marvel at the beautiful young woman you’re becoming. I love your jokes, your comfort, your strength, and the quiet resilience you carry. I especially cherish how you always check on me, those moments mean more to me than you’ll ever know, and I already know I’ll miss them deeply when you head off to college.
Today, I celebrate you and all the joy you bring into my life and your sister’s.
Wishing you the most beautiful birthday and a year filled with love, growth, and endless possibilities.
Love Ya ToytoyBoogie 🥰🥰❤️

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of sitting through o Yesterday, I had the pleasure of sitting through our Mid-Year MNLEND Fellows Presentations which is the last class for the year, and listening to all 17 fellows share their journey so far was truly inspiring. They reflected on what they’ve learned, their clinical observations, the progress they’ve made on their projects, and the expectations they’ve set for the second half of the program.

We were also joined by several MNLEND alumni, who came to network with the current fellows, answering their questions, offering guidance, and exchanging contacts for future collaboration.
Seeing that connection across cohorts reminded me of the strong community and sustained impact this program creates.

Watching the growth, confidence, and purpose of each fellow has reaffirmed why the MNLEND program is so important, and why I continue to advocate for its existence and impact.

I’m excited to share that applications are now open for the 2026–27 MNLEND cohort.
	•	Early Application Deadline: January 5, 2026
	•	Final Application Deadline: March 2, 2026

If you have any questions or are considering applying, feel free to reach out to me directly as the program coordinator.
I’m always happy to support future fellows on their LEND journey.
